I'm Kayla, and I run this little blog of ours! Caleb might pop in occasionally, but this is where you'll find our most recent work, yummy recipes we've tried and our random weekend happenings. We hope you'll pour yourself a drink and stick around!

Best of 2019 Weddings!

I can’t tell you how excited we are about this particular blog post. Year after year, Caleb and I have the privilege of witnessing so many incredible moments. It’s hard as a photographer (heck, as a human) not to get caught up in the comparison game. With so many incredible, creative vendors in our area, it’s easy to feel like your work doesn’t measure up. I used to REALLY struggle with this…until I remembered that it’s not about us. It’s not about being published in the best magazines, getting rated by top wedding blogs, or booking a wedding with the best venue.

Our CLIENTS and THEIR STORIES…that’s what really matters. Showing up for them, capturing all the emotions (the tears, the belly laughs, the extra tight hugs), and doing our absolute best for them. Sometimes, that means more than just showing up and being the photographer…it means giving them the back to my earring because the bride dropped hers. It means running to Walmart when the bar runs out of cranberry juice for the signature drink (yes, Caleb really did this). It means reassuring you that a little rain on your wedding day won’t hurt ya.

At the end of the day, long after the wedding reception is over and the confetti is being cleaned off the floor, all you have are these portraits. We don’t take that responsibility lightly. So we pay extra special attention and LOOK for those mundane, special, beautiful moments all day. Moments you may not even realize you wanted captured. Moments you’ll treasure for the rest of your days!

I have to say, I got a little emotional going through our 2019 wedding galleries all over again. Picking some of our favorite images, seeing the joy. It makes me happy thinking these photos will hang on the walls of homes long after we’re gone. It reminded me that what we do is something special. It matters.

So to keep this short, we’re just insanely freakin grateful. Enjoy the ridiculous amount of photos below, and let us know your favorites.

Thank you to EVERY SINGLE one of our couples! Thank you, Tessa & Tony, Nicole & David, Jess & Patrick, Emily & Chris, Amber & Joe, Lauren & Shadi, Emily & Chad, Emily & Jarod, Jen & Nick, Natalie & Justin, Christi & Daryl, Megan & Mike, Deanna & Jo, Cate & Nick, and Kristin & Sam! You not only allowed us to document your wedding day, but you let us into your lives, and it’s something we’ll never forget. We love you guys!

Can’t wait to do this again next year. Let’s have a great 2020, friends!
